I was going to continue a one of my ongoing plot threads this week, but Harper has been busy eviscerating what little pitiful attempts Canada was making to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, so I couldn't restrain myself. An acquaintance of mind who had a job assessing homes for energy efficiency just lost it. She says, "The Conservative government abruptly cancelled the EnerGuide for Houses service across Canada last Thursday. An e-mail was sent May 11 at 4:45 cancelling the service effective Friday night May 12 at midnight. Not much notice!"
Oh, that Harper. He is efficient. He's got back-bone. Gets things done. I'd hate to see what he'd do with a majority! Brings to mind a certain Ontario premier who decimated local energy efficiency initiatives when he came to power a decade or so ago.
In 2002, Global Gus made an appearance in Weltschmerz with Ralph Klein. These two cartoons are, sadly, still pertinent, if not more so. So I've posted them in the archive, and you can jump to them from the links below.

Attack of the Same-Sex Sleeper Cells Reviews:
Exclaim! says: "Slyly meshing Doonesbury politics, slacker culture and relationship dramas, Lind accomplishes a remarkable balancing act. …Smartly political without being preachy, (Weltschmerz is) a current jolt of satire served with a soothing cup of interpersonal angst.?
Eye Weekly says: "Weltschmerz successfully straddles the line between humorous and depressing, taking well-deserved punches at some of the most infuriating political events and trends of 2005."
Echo says: "Mating excellence in design and print quality and Lind’s thoughtful and incisive social commentary, the inaugural collection from the Weltschmerz series sets a high standard."
